Deployment Guide: Installing the Convoflo Add-in on Outlook

For professional service firms using the Outlook inbox, installing your Convoflo add-in is done simply using a local configuration file.

Installing the Convoflo add-in for Outlook is simple

Deployment Prerequisites

Before starting the integration in your desktop software, make sure you have the following required elements for setup:

  • The Convoflo manifest file (a document in .xml format) provided by our technical team.
  • An active desktop or web Outlook application on your Windows or Mac computer (please note that integration is not compatible with Outlook 2016 and earlier versions).
  • Your user credentials to your Convoflo account.

1. Access Outlook Add-ins

Open your Outlook application. In the top navigation ribbon (under the Home or Tools tab), click on the Get Add-ins button. A Microsoft pop-up window will open on your screen.

Select the "Get Add-ins" option in your main Outlook toolbar.

2. Upload the Manifest File (.xml)

In the left side menu of the window that just appeared, select the My Add-ins section. Scroll down the right pane until you reach the Custom add-ins option.

Click on the + Add a custom add-in dropdown link and choose the option Add from File.... Next, select the downloaded Convoflo XML file from your computer and confirm the installation.

Note for administrators and users

Is the Convoflo add-in not displaying in your Outlook?

It is possible that the add-in does not display immediately after installation
  • Simply close the Outlook application completely and restart it. The Convoflo add-in should appear as expected.
  • If the issue persists, simply get in touch with our support team.

3. Activation and First Login

Once the file is loaded, the add-in will activate instantly. When drafting a new email or selecting a received message, the Secure with Convoflo button will appear in your toolbar panel. Log in once using your Convoflo credentials to send secure emails directly from Outlook and to organize incoming emails inside Convoflo.
